Inclusive production of multistrange hyperons from 11-GeV/c K-p interactions.

Large samples of inclusively produced 8-, nand H’(l530) events are presented from a 1427 ev/pb exposure of the LASS spectrometer to an 11 GeV/c Kbeam. Production characteristics of these states are compared with other data and shown to be consistent with hyperon exchange. Polarization of Bshows an increase in magnitude with both Feynman x and transverse momentum. The Hdecay parameters are measured to be are = -0.40 f 0.03 and tDPH = (5f 10)‘. R es&s of searches for higher mass hyperons are presented. The E-(1820) + 8” (1530)7rd eta y is observed, while we fail to confirm the existence of the x+(3170).
